* We package the documentation, send it to the IRS or the State of Florida, and immediately request a conference to bring closure to your case

FRESHSTARTTAX.COM

Yes, it is possible to stop an IRS levy within a 24 hour period of time. It is important to understand what the requirements are before a company can guarantee that it will stop the levy. There are many fraudulent claims of companies making a 100% guarantee but do not understand the requirements.

Firstly, all tax returns must be filed. The IRS will not cooperate with anyone unless that is done. There are no exceptions.

Secondly, if you do not have your records, we have special sources to order your transcripts from that are unavailable to the taxpayer. We get them through the practitioner’s hot-line. We can get your tax file usually within a 24 hour period of time. We can get your returns to the IRS usually with one or two days.

Thirdly, we complete a form 433-F, a financial statement, and talk with you about a possible solution to get you right with the IRS.

What Are The Possible Solutions To Your Case?

1. Offer in compromise
2. To be placed in a current non-collectible status, hardship status
3. File a Chapter 7 or 13 bankruptcy
4. Streamline payment agreement
5. Part payment agreement

Fourthly, after we reach a decision about your case and the proper disposition, we contact the IRS and get the case file closed.

Fresh Start Tax has a team of professionals that clearly and honestly talk with you about your case. We will resolve the back tax issues in your best interest. Let our years of experience and tax professionals give you the honest answers you need. Call us today.

Tax Tips for New Business Owners

Are you opening a new business this summer? The IRS has many resources available for individuals that are opening a new business. Here are six tax tips the IRS wants new business owners to know.

First, you must decide what type of business entity you are going to establish. The type of business entity will determine which tax form you have to file. The most common types of business are the sole proprietorship, partnership, corporation and S corporation.
The type of business you operate determines what taxes you must pay and how you pay them. The four general types of business taxes are income tax, self-employment tax, employment tax and excise tax.
An Employer Identification Number is used to identify a business entity. Generally, businesses need an EIN. Visit IRS.gov for more information about whether you will need an EIN. You can also apply for an EIN online at IRS.gov.
Good records will help you ensure successful operation of your new business. You may choose any record keeping system suited to your business that clearly shows your income and expenses. Except in a few cases, the law does not require any special kind of records. However, the business you are in affects the type of records you need to keep for federal tax purposes.
Every business taxpayer must figure taxable income on an annual accounting period called a tax year. The calendar year and the fiscal year are the most common tax years used.
Each taxpayer must also use a consistent accounting method, which is a set of rules for determining when to report income and expenses. The most commonly used accounting methods are the cash method and an accrual method. Under the cash method, you generally report income in the tax year you receive it and deduct expenses in the tax year you pay them. Under an accrual method, you generally report income in the tax year you earn it and deduct expenses in the tax year you incur them.

Need to file back tax returns Advise for job seekers

Did you know that you may be able to deduct some of your job search expenses on your tax return?

Many taxpayers spend time during the summer months updating their résumé and attending career fairs. If you are searching for a job this summer, you may be able to deduct some of your expenses on your tax return. Here are six things the IRS wants you to know about deducting costs related to your job search.

To qualify for a deduction, the expenses must be spent on a job search in your current occupation. You may not deduct expenses incurred while looking for a job in a new occupation.
You can deduct employment and outplacement agency fees you pay while looking for a job in your present occupation. If your employer pays you back in a later year for employment agency fees, you must include the amount you receive in your gross income up to the amount of your tax benefit in the earlier year.
You can deduct amounts you spend for preparing and mailing copies of your résumé to prospective employers as long as you are looking for a new job in your present occupation.
If you travel to an area to look for a new job in your present occupation, you may be able to deduct travel expenses to and from the area. You can only deduct the travel expenses if the trip is primarily to look for a new job. The amount of time you spend on personal activity compared to the amount of time you spend looking for work is important in determining whether the trip is primarily personal or is primarily to look for a new job.
You cannot deduct job search expenses if there was a substantial break between the end of your last job and the time you begin looking for a new one.
You cannot deduct job search expenses if you are looking for a job for the first time.

If you have received a certified or regular mail notice from the IRS that says, “Notice of Intent to Levy”, we can stop that action usually within one day. The following procedure must be followed. We immediately send over a Power of Attorney to the Internal Revenue Service and let them know we are your legal representative. At this point, they can no longer speak with you. The law forbids them to contact you. We are placed in your stead. As we begin the process, we will give the necessary documents to the Internal Revenue Service to cease and desist all action. We do this by making sure all of your tax returns are filed. They do not have to be paid, but they must be filed. We will then discuss with you the best option and plan that is right for your situation. After we come to an agreement of the right solution, the next and final step is to complete a 433-F form and then call the IRS. Your case will close in one of the following ways:

* Part pay agreement
* Streamline agreement
* Currently not collectible or hardship also called CNC

IRS  Military Tax Tips

Summer is a busy time for everyone, but particularly for military members and their families. Whether it’s moving to a new base or traveling to a duty station, members of the military have many obligations that could impact their tax situation. Here are 10 IRS tax tips military members should keep in mind this summer to help with filing a tax return next year.

Moving Expenses If you are a member of the Armed Forces on active duty and you move because of a permanent change of station, you can deduct the reasonable unreimbursed expenses of moving you and members of your household.

Call Fresh Start Tax today 1-866-700-1040 Let our former Agents resolve your problem A plus rating BBB

Have you received a State of Florida Notice of Intent to Audit? Fresh Start Tax has a team of local tax professionals that can help you today. You absolutely should hire a local company to resolve your Florida tax issues. One of the advantages of using Fresh Start Tax is that you will have one of the very best local/state firms representing you. We have a team of Board Certified Tax Attorneys, a Former Department of Revenue Tax Audit Manager with the State of Florida Department, CPAs and former IRS agents. Our team of tax professionals have over 100 years collectively of professional tax experience with the State of Florida and the Internal Revenue Service.

If the State of Florida has sent you a Florida Notice of intent to Audit, it is in your very best interest to obtain professional representation.

The State of Florida has been very hard pressed to raise Revenue dollars due to the budget short fall and the audits are coming our way. Whatever you do, do not go into the State of Florida without professional representation or they will eat you for lunch.

How Are Taxpayers Selected for Audit by the Department of Revenue?

The methods for selecting a business or individual to audit varies from tax to tax. Here are some examples of sources used to identify a potential audit candidate:

* Internal Revenue Service information provided to the State
* Information sharing programs with other states and state agencies to the DOR
* Computer-based random selection
* Analysis of Florida tax return information by in-house auditors

When we notify you of our intent to audit, we will also tell you what records you will need to provide. The types of records may include, but are not limited to:

* General ledgers and journals
* Cash receipt and disbursement journals
* Purchase and sales journals
* Sales tax exemption or resale certificates
* Florida tax returns
* Federal tax returns
* Depreciation schedules
* Property records
* Other documentation to verify amounts entered on tax returns

You must keep your records for three years since an audit can extend back that far. The Department may audit for periods longer than three years if you did not file, or filed a substantially incorrect return or payment.

Some of the benefits of immediate professional representation:

* You do not have to talk with the Department of Revenue
* You know your case will be handled and resolved as quickly as possible
* You know you are getting the very best deal, solution and resolution

What are the dangers of self representation:

* Be aware of the far reaching power of the State of Florida
* Be aware of their seizure and warrant power
* Be aware that the State of Florida is securing information about you to collect the tax in full

Why the State of Florida will work better with a professional company than me the taxpayer:

* Professionals know what the Department of Revenue, State of Florida is looking for
* Professionals know exact packaging required
* Professionals know the applicable closing and settlement procedures

Fresh Start Tax has the experience you are looking for and is located in the State of Florida. We have on our staff one of the Former Audit Managers of the Department of Revenue. Call us today to end your problem. 1- 800-700-1040. You will not be disappointed.
