When my father died, our land was assigned a "Special Use" tax lien, since it was assessed as farm land. If we sell a few acres of that land, do we figure the amount of money needed to release that portion of land according to the value we actually paid inheritence taxes on? It seems like that is the value the I.R.S. used to secure their lein, since they leined such a large portion of our land.

The health care tax credit will provide some initial relief to small businesses, especially in California where small businesses are overtaxed as it is. But with annual increases of 20% in health insurance rates even a 35% tax credit does little to help.

Does this also apply to an electronic filing which was done 4/13, and there should have been more taxes included in the deductions, or can the original filing be corrected and sent in again?

The above answer included "The collection period expires ten years from the original date of the assessment." I thought it was from the date the lien was filed. Can anyone clarify this? THANKS!
